Abstract

ABSTRACT

Background and Objectives: This research, with the aim of analyzing the field experiences of students in the Arabic Language Teaching major during their internship and examining the development of "educational thinking" in them, was conducted based on the theoretical framework of Donald Schon (1983). Methods: In terms of purpose, this study is applied research, and in terms of data collection, it is a survey. The research population consisted of student-teachers who completed the internship course in the 2024-2025 academic year at Farhangian University of Qom. The sampling method was purposive, based on the criterion technique, with the criterion for participation being the completion of Internships 1-4 in the Arabic Language Teaching group. 104 student-teachers responded to the reflective teacher questionnaire. Findings: The findings indicate that field experiences, especially when accompanied by structured reflection opportunities, can significantly enhance students' educational thinking and guide them toward conscious professionalization. Furthermore, challenges such as a lack of adequate guidance from field supervisors and the disconnect between theoretical knowledge and real classroom conditions were identified as obstacles to effective reflectivity. Conclusion: The findings of this research can contribute to improving internship programs in the Arabic Language Teaching major and to designing reflection-based training courses.
