Abstract

Background and Objectives: The aim of the present study was the psychoeducational effectiveness of the dynamic group in empowering the ego and reducing externalized conflicts in student teachers. Method: The research design was a quasi-experimental design with pre-test-post-test and control group. The statistical population in this study consisted of all male and female student teachers studying in the faculties of Shahid Rajaee Teacher Training University in the academic year 2023-2024. The study sample in the present study was 30 people who were selected through convenience sampling and call-out and after an initial clinical interview were randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups (15 people in each group). The measurement tools included the Perceived Ego Empowerment Scale (PIES, Markstrom et al.,1993) and the Conflict Resolution Questionnaire (CRQ, Fisher and Weeks,1994). The experimental group received the tactical defense management psychoeducational package for 8 sessions, the control group had their normal program, and after conducting the experiments and post-test, they participated in a group therapy. Research data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of covariance. Findings: The results showed that group-dynamic psychoeducational interventions were effective in increasing ego empowerment(p<0.05); group-dynamic psychoeducational interventions were also effective in reducing interpersonal conflicts (p<0.05). Conclusion: The use of dynamic group psychoeducational program is effective for increasing the ego capability and extra-psychological conflicts of student teachers, and using this method can be beneficial for students to know themselves better.
