Abstract
the current research was conducted with the aim of designing a paradigmatic model for the development of leisure time of student teachers in the country, emphasizing the pathology of the current situation. The research approach was qualitative and was implemented with the method based on Data-base Theory. The data was collected using in-depth semi-structured interviews from among the three groups involved in the research topic, student teachers, faculty members, and welfare staff of Farhangian University across the country in the academic year of 2021-2022. The participants were selected by theoretical sampling and the number of interviews until data saturation reached 64 people. To analyze the content of the interviews, an interpretive analytical method was used using three-stage open, axial and selective coding. In the end, 274 open codes were identified, which were aggregated into 19 axial codes, then into 6 categories (causal factors, main category, strategies, intervening factors, contextual components, and consequences of the development of student teachers' leisure time with an emphasis on the pathology of the current situation) and in the form of a schematic model.
