Pathology of the interview process, selection and choice of candidates to enter the teaching profession

Abstract

The aim of this study was to conduct a pathological study of the interview process, selection and choice of candidates to enter the teaching profession through Farhangian University of Khorasan Razavi Province. For this purpose, phenomenography method and semi-structured interview tools were used. The target population was all professors and experts in the field of educational sciences and psychology of Farhangian University of Mashhad and Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, all students, teachers and graduates of Farhangian University of Mashhad and all interviewees were selected by Khorasan Razavi Education Organization. They were identified and interviewed by purposive sampling method. The research was theoretically saturated with 20 professors, 10 students and graduates, and 5 selected interviewers. Interviews were recorded, analyzed, and coded. In the central coding stage, the codes were categorized into 21 categories and in the selective coding, the injuries of the selection process of candidates entering Farhangian University were categorized in three stages: exclusive interview, selection interview, and medical examination. Finally, research and practical suggestions were presented for the use of experts, officials and, those in charge of interviewing, selecting, selecting and, accepting candidates to enter the teaching profession.
