Examining the art education curriculum of elementary school from the perspective of constructivist approach(case study: new teachers of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province)

Abstract

The aim of the research was to analyze the curriculum of elementary school art education based on constructivist approach. The type of applied research and was descriptive-analytical and survey. The statistical population of the research included all the new primary school teachers of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province in the academic year of 1399-1400, and 176 of them were randomly selected as a statistical sample. The data collection tool of the research included a research questionnaire based on a five-point Likert spectrum, the validity of which was confirmed by 9 experts and its reliability coefficient was calculated as 0.93 using Cronbach's alpha method. Questionnaires were administered electronically between statistical samples. The findings of the research indicated the lack of proper implementation of the program using the constructivist approach. The degree of desirability of curriculum goals/outcomes was lower than average and content was higher than average. The desirability of the art curriculum based on the art education approach, from the perspective of the constructivist approach in the stages of communicating and experiencing, was more than average, application was average, sharing and transfer of learning to new situations was less than average and evaluation of what was learned was more than average.
