Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between "spirituality in work" and "responsibility" with "educational performance" of elementary school teachers in Qom city.
Methods:
The present study was in terms of approach; quantitative, from the point of view of purpose; applied, in terms of information gathering method, survey and in terms of analytical method, descriptive and correlational. The statistical population of this study was primary school administrators working in Qom city (544 people) in the academic year of 97-96. The sample size was 224 with the help of Morgan table. The stratified random sampling method was used to collect the data. All of the questionnaires were provided with face and content validity and reliability (using Cronbach's alpha).
Findings:
Findings showed that all three components of "spirituality in work", "responsibility" and "teacher performance" of teachers are positively related. The proportion of this relationship in men is higher than of women (apart from the ratio of "spirituality in work" and "teachers' educational performance" that is the same). In all three components, the female score was higher than that of men, meaning that this difference was significant in the components of "spirituality in work" and "educational performance" and was not meaningful in the "accountability" component.
Conclusion:
Based on findings, it is concluded that strengthening the two factors of "spirituality in work" and "responsibility" will increase the effectiveness of the "educational performance" of elementary teachers. It is also suggested that components of "spirituality in work" and "responsibility" be used in teacher rating and promotion.
